Every Teurons product shows its current stage. The stage tells you what you can rely on. These promises form part of the Terms of Service. A product addendum can add to them, and wins if it conflicts.

What each stage promises
Incubating
A prototype or idea we are exploring in public.
- Access may be invite-only or limited.
- It may change completely, pause, or be dropped without notice.
- No commitments on data retention, uptime or support.
- Free.
Alpha
Usable, but incomplete. Expect rough edges.
- Features and APIs can change without notice.
- Data may be reset. We will email account owners first when we can.
- No uptime or support commitment.
- Free.
Beta
Feature-complete and open to everyone. Ready for real use.
- It may be paid. Prices are shown before you buy.
- At least 30 days' notice before billing starts or a price changes. You can cancel before the change takes effect.
- At least 90 days' notice before it shuts down, with time to export your data.
- Your data is kept and can be exported.
- No uptime guarantee. Support is best effort.
GA
Generally available, fully supported, final pricing.
- At least 30 days' notice before a price change. You can cancel before the change takes effect.
- At least 6 months' notice before a breaking change to a published API.
- Uptime and support commitments as stated in the product addendum.
- Your data is kept and can be exported.
Deprecated
Being shut down. No new features.
- We announce a shutdown date at least 6 months ahead for a paid GA product, and at least 90 days ahead for any other GA or Beta product.
- You can export your data until that date.
- Billing stops at shutdown, and any prepaid time after that date is refunded pro rata.
How a product moves between stages
Products usually move forward one stage at a time: Incubating, then Alpha, then Beta, then GA. A product can also pause, or move to Deprecated from any stage.
- We update the badge on teurons.com on the day a stage changes.
- When a product with accounts changes stage, we email account owners and say what changes for them.
Pre-release products
Incubating, Alpha and Beta products are pre-release. They are provided as is, may contain bugs, and are not covered by any uptime or service level commitment. Do not rely on them for anything where a failure or data loss would cause you serious harm.
